These days are amazing, too

I loved the days of small children. The wonder, laughter, playfulness.

But I love these days with my young adults just as much. We share connection and closeness that fills my soul with love and contentment I couldn’t have imagined.
My daughter spent the past few days at home. Our family home. We cooked a big New Years Day brunch, binge-watched Chopped Junior (something we used to do when she was a tween) and went on an adventure in the city.
A friendship has grown through the years, and because of what it blossomed from, it’s a richer and more precious friendship than all others. It encompasses every evolution of our relationship — the mother-child bond and dynamic layered with so many other facets.
