Next is not now

From the moment we become mothers, we feel the pull. Back and forth from wishing our current moment or season of motherhood would never end, to just wanting to get through it.

As a mom of a college senior and one in her second year out, I’ve experienced many such pulls. I know I missed some 𝙣𝙀𝙬 moments in the high school years simply because I was worrying about what life would be like when they went to college.

And since they’ve been in college, I’ve realized it wasn’t most of the things I’d worried about. In fact, it’s been amazing all around! Our relationships have grown and deepened in the most beautiful ways. I have grown in ways I’d never imagined, too.

So now, I could be worrying about what’s next. What will life be like after the college season is all over? But I’ve finally learned from past experience, and I’d like to share it with you. Whether you’re in the college, teen, tween, elementary school, preschool, toddler or infant season…be in 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 season. There will be treasures, and some challenges, that come π™£π™šπ™π™©. Yes, there will be things we miss from previous seasons.

But n⃣e⃣x⃣t⃣ is not n⃣o⃣w⃣. If we can keep grounded in the 𝗑𝗒π—ͺs, we will enjoy them so much more, and create more vivid and vibrant memories to carry with us into all of the π—‘π—˜π—«π—§s.
